Tailor-Made Solution for a Global Standard in Food Safety

Project overview

FSSC (Foundation FSSC 22000) is a global non-profit organization and the independent owner of ISO Management System certification schemes. Recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), FSSC’s schemes play a critical role in ensuring international harmonization of food safety standards. Their IT system is essential for supporting the certification process, which involves auditors conducting assessments on behalf of certification bodies. The result is a publicly available list of food industry organizations that meet stringent safety requirements.

Challenges & constraints

FSSC needed to replace its aging IT system with a future-proof solution that would comply with GFSI-approved FSSC scheme requirements. The stakes were high—this system is critical for managing the registration, auditing and certification of food safety standards on a global scale. Adding to the challenge was an aggressive timeline: the entire project needed to be completed within just four months.

Project solution

At SOWEDO, we tackled this ambitious project by developing a custom-built portal on the no-code platform WEM. Our team worked swiftly and collaboratively with FSSC to meet the tight deadline while ensuring the new system would deliver on functionality, scalability and compliance.

  • Rapid Development: In just 10 weeks, we produced the first version of the portal. This quick turnaround allowed FSSC to begin transitioning to the new system without delay.

  • Data Migration: We seamlessly migrated all data from the legacy system to the new platform, ensuring no disruption to ongoing certification processes.

  • Continuous Evolution: After launching the system on time, we didn’t stop there. We’ve continued to expand and enhance the platform, adding new features and functionalities to meet FSSC’s evolving needs.
