Arval wanted to make returning lease cars faster and more transparent. We built an app with which the driver inspects the car themselves using photo and video. AI recognises the damage and the report with costs is ready within ten minutes.

The assignment

Returning was slow, unclear and expensive.

Returning a car meant driving to a fixed location, waiting for the damage assessment and only then the final settlement. The driver didn't know where they stood, the fleet manager didn't know what it would cost, and the leasing company didn't know what condition the car would come back in.

Meanwhile cars sat on the lot unnecessarily long before they could move on to sale. Arval wanted it differently: let the driver inspect themselves, with the same report for everyone at the same moment.
